Sub-20 clocking for Bolt at London DL

Usain Bolt proved he is back to full fitness with a 19.89 seconds clocking in winning the 200 metres at the London Diamond League meet on Friday.

His mission was to prove his fitness, and with the world holding its breath, Bolt produced something special at the site of his last Olympic victory.

The time makes Bolt the 4th fastest man in the world for 2016. Nickel Ashmeade finished 8th in 20.51.

Stephenie McPherson was the next best placed Jamaican as she finished second in the women's 400m after clocking 50.40 seconds.

Last year's World Championship silver medallist Bahamian Shaunae Miller won in a world- leading 49.55 seconds.

Julian Forte finished 5th in the men's 100m in 10.11 seconds behind winner Jimmy Vicaut of France who clocked 10.02.

However the performance of the meet went to American Kendra Harrison. The 23 year old American who missed out on making the US team to this summer's Olympics, broke a 28 year old world record in the women's 100 metres hurdles, clocking a spectacular 12.20 seconds. With the performance, Harrison now owns two of the three fastest times in the history of the event.

Double Olympic sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is among seven Jamaicans who will be in action on Saturday’s final day. Fraser-Pryce will line up alongside compatriots Christania Williams and Simone Facey.

Another Jamaican, Remona Burchell will contest heat 2.

Damar Forbes who won at the Monaco Diamond League will contest the men's long jump, while Chanice Porter who narrowly missed out on making the Olympic team, will contest the female equivalent.

World Championship bronze medallist Odayne Richards will compete in the men's shot put while Jamaica will field a team in the men's 4x100 metre relay.
