West Indians fail to shine in IPL playoff

In a match involving several West Indian powerhouse players, the Mumbai Indians defeated the Kolkota Knight-Riders by six wickets today to reach the Indian Premier League Twenty20 final on Friday. However, the West Indian players had very little impact on the game played in Bangalore.

Sunil Narine could only manage 10 opening the batting as KKR were rolled over for 107. Indian leg-spinner Karn Sharma with 4-16, did most of the damage of Mumbai.

Chasing 108 to win, Mumbai raced to 111-4 despite losing Lendll Simmons early for just 3. Simmons' fellow Trinidadian Kieron Pollard ended not out on 9 as Krunal Pandya with 45 not out, led the way. The final, to be played against Rising Pune Super Giants, will be contested on Sunday.
