The West Indies women's cricket team have booked their spot into the semi-finals of the ICC Women's World T20 after a 83 run victory over Sri Lanka at the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St Lucia on Friday. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the Caribbean side posted 187-5 from their 20 overs with Hayley Matthews top-scoring with 62 runs from 36 balls.
Deandra Dottin made 49 while skipper Stafanie Taylor added 41.This was West Indies' highest total ever in a Women's World T20. In reply, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 104 inside 18 overs. Matthews led the way with the ball with 3-16 from three overs. With the win, the West Indies move to the top of Group "A" with six points. They will play England in their last match of the group stages on Sunday.
